Bev's Star Medallion Quilt

Bev has brought me so many donation quilts. She's such a selfless quilter. So, it was a special treat for me to quilt this one, knowing it was going to be for Bev herself. You deserve it, Bev!

This quilt involved lots of different ideas. As a medallion-style layout, it features a showcase design in the center, and then builds outward from the middle. I used ruler work in the stars. Swirls in the green lattice strips. Triple cross-hatching in the large squares. Curved cross-hatching in the cream odd-shaped spaces.

My quilting is all free-motion, hand-guided on an APQS longarm quilting machine.

Curved cross-hatching in the cream odd-shaped spaces, with serpentine in the curved, navy blue spaces.

Ruler work in the leafy half-square triangles. Some swirls in the creamy, leafy squares. And cross-hatching in the gridded squares.

I outlined the flower border and left it unquilted. Then applied an alternating piano-key treatment in the outer borders.
